One baby was strapped on my back while another crawled around in the playground. I worked 12 hour days for months sanding and taking wallpaper off, all with one child. Ha! In my own home, I started hosting open houses in which more than 1000 guests could visit and purchase any product they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. Growing Days was created in this house. Growing Days wasn't just a thriving business but as well my family. I was finding that balance between what it took to start a new business and be a mommy too. Growing Days just seemed to work. Nora came into our lives in 2013 and became our fourth baby. Although I was happy with the direction my business took, I felt like I had to take an occasional break. I decided to stop building my old furniture and stay home with the kids. It was the right time. But after a couple of months after that, the phone began to ring. People were calling me and seeking help for decorating their homes and interior remodeling. The majority of them were people who had been through my house during furniture open houses! I began to take on clients at a time taking my time but it wasn't too long before I had multiple accounts and was running an entire home improvement business. Had you told me my venture would end up being the basis for a DIY Network show, I might have laughed. In the present, as I reflect on the situation, I find myself laughing.
